SWAT: The Swat police have made a security plan to maintain peace on Eidul Fitr.

District police officer Zahid Nawaz Marwat stated this while speaking at a meeting of senior police officers here on Saturday.

The meeting was informed that check points had been set up at the entry and exit points of the district to keep a watch on suspected people.

Mr Marwat directed the SHOs to ensure effective implementation of Section 144 and launch public awareness campaigns through social media and other means to prevent the menace of firing in the air on Chand Raat and Eid days.

He directed that strict action should be taken against those indulging in the illegal practice. He also ordered action against wheelie.

DPO Nawaz Marwat appealed to parents to keep an eye on their children and not to allow them to ride motorcycles.

He also ordered deployment of additional personnel for security of important places, bazaars and mosques.

He appealed to the people, particularly the business community, to keep an eye on suspected persons and objects and report such matter to the police.

He said the police had also formulated a plan for ensuring smooth traffic flow on Swat roads during the Eid days.

Meanwhile, participants of a meeting held at the Bahrain assistant commissioner’s office on Saturday took stock of the arrangements put in place for facilitating the tourists visiting the picturesque valley on Eid.

Tasks were assigned to the relevant officials to facilitate tourists as well as to ensure smooth traffic flow in Madyan, Bahrain and Kalam.

Presidents of different tourist associations assured their full cooperation to the district administration in that regard.
