KHAIRPUR, Dec 6: The Sindh health secretary on Tuesday suspended Dr Shabbir Ahmed Shaikh, civil surgeon of the Khairpur Civil Hospital, and directed him to report to the health secretariat.

City Hospital’s Medical Superintendent Dr Ghulam Nabi Shaikh has taken over as acting civil surgeon.

Dr Shabbir Shaikh is accused of being negligent during recent protests by nurses and also being involved in the protest.

He was removed after an inquiry committee constituted by the secretary health submitted its report.

OATH: Nazim and naib nazim of Kolab Jial union council of the Kingri taluka, Hafeezullah, and Abdul Jabbar, took oath of their offices here on Tuesday.

Senior civil judge-II administered the oath.

Awam Dost Panel councillor and workers were also present at the oath taking ceremony.

They were declared elected by the additional district and session judge Moro.
