PESHAWAR: Pashto film industry has released lone movie titled ‘Kashar Khan Ba Na Cheray’ (let not trouble the young lord) on Eidul Fitr to entertain cinemagoers while rest of the cinema houses screened old Pashto runs.

The lone Pashto flick was featuring film stars, including Shahid Khan, Arbaz Khan, Feroza Ali, Nayab Chaudhry, Imran Khattak and Raheema.

Over 50 local performers also released funny Pashto skits on their YouTube channels, while most folk singers uploaded new songs on social media to entertain their fans.

A few TV and stage performers brought out their reformative Pashto plays related to Eid festivities on social media.

Shot on beautiful locations of northern areas the lone movie has many attractions for the viewers, but quality music was considered to cast major impact on the audience. The storyline was yet another feature of the flick. Music as usual was strength of this movie too with playback singers Wisal Khial, Shah Farooq and Sitara Younas.

Only Arshad Cinema screened the lone Pashto film on the first day of Eidul Fitr while other cinema halls either ran old Pashto runs or live theatre plays.

When contacted, superstar of Pashto film Ajab Gul told this scribe that Pashto cinema had been in hot waters for the last over several decades and producers and film-makers had been pushed to wall due to numerous reasons. He said that talent was being wasted as no steps were taken to improve the condition of local film industry.

“Peshwarites have to rely on enjoying only one Pashto movie this Eid and it has many good things for the cine-goers I am told,” said Mr Gul.

Shahid Khan, another star of Pashto film industry, said he and his team of performers had tried their best to bring up best feature film on Eid.

“The story has many surprises and thrills and that’s why I expect excellent response from viewers. The trailer of the movie ‘Kashar Khan Ba Na Cheray’ has already earned popularity on social media,” he said.

A variety Pashto musical show titled ‘Da Akhtar Guloona’ was another highlight of Eid where a group of local TV and stage performers arranged a musical show in Nishtar Hall on the second , third and fourth day of Eid.

Noted midget performer Zardad Bulbul along with his team presented a big Pashto musical variety show in Nishtar Hall after a long time.

“I came up with my team of performers, stand-up comedians and folk singers on the second of Eidul Fitr. Most fans had already booked their seats online.

The list of folk singers included Asfandyar Momand, Shahzad Khial, Wisal Khial and Neelo while Ali Jamal, Sardar Marikhee, Asfandyar (midget) and Zardad Bulbul performed in the show.
