ISLAMABAD: A man was murdered during robbery in the capital, police said on Saturday.

The incident took place at Ashraf Town, Pindorian, where robbers shot dead Manzoor Khan, the police said.

The incident came to light when the victim’s wife and son returned home and found the house locked from inside. They broke into the house and found it ransacked and Mr Khan’s body lying in a pool of blood.

After being informed, the police reached the house and shifted the body to hospital. The police said the victim sustained a bullet injury to his head.

Meanwhile, robbers and thieves looted cash and valuables from 18 places in the capital.

Four robbers intercepted Mohammad Zahir and five other people on Srinagar Highway and looted Rs20,000 and mobile phones. Another gang of three robbers held up Rizwan Syed Ashraf and his friend at Kurri Road and snatched Rs2,500 and mobile phones from them.

Likewise, Mohammad Irshad Farooq was intercepted by armed men at I-8/2 and robbed of a mobile phone.

Burglars broke into the house of Usman Ali at G-6/4 and made off with Rs300,000 and nine tola gold ornaments and two wrist watches while Rs300,000 were stolen from a house at Alipur.

Burglars also broke into the house of Shahidullah at Pindorian and made off with Rs500,000 and seven tola gold ornaments.

Thieves stole Rs217,000 and three tola gold ornaments from the house of Sahibzada Nazir Ahmed at G-6/2.

Burglars broke into the house of Aisha Alim at G-13/1 and made off with gold ornaments and valuables while Rs25,000 and gold ornaments were stolen from the house of Syed Musharraf Hussain Shah at Alipur Farash.

Meanwhile, a car and six motorcycles were lifted from Chirrah, Shahdara, Polyclinic, Bhara Kahu, Quaid-i-Azam University and G-16.
