LOWER DIR: A man killed his wife along with a baby girl and her alleged paramour in Sacha area of Khall in the wee hours on Saturday, residents and the police said.

Officials at the Khall police station said the suspect found her wife absent when he reached home from duty on Friday night.

They said the suspect along with a brother kept waiting for his wife outside their house. They said he opened fire when a car carrying his women reached there. As a result, the woman, her six-year-old baby girl, and a man, stated to be a resident of Mian Kallay area of Jandol, were killed on the spot.

The officials said they had arrested the suspect and his brother. The bodies were shifted to rural health centre, Khall, and later handed over to relatives after postmortem.

BOARD EXAMINATION: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Malakand, chairman Prof Zamin Gul on Saturday said over 100,000 students were appearing in the secondary school annual examinations starting from May 13.

Addressing the concluding session of a daylong workshop for the examination hall superintendents at the University of Malakand, he said all preparations had been finalised for the examination.

Prof Gul said supervisory staff had been appointed from other districts in order to make the process transparent.

He said the board had set up a special control room and a media cell to deal with the complaints in a timely manner.

DEATH ANNIVERSARY: Pakistan Peoples Party chairman and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, in his message on the ninth death anniversary of former district nazim Mohammad Zahir Shah Khan, said the deceased had sacrificed his life for democracy and peace.

“His services to the party will always be remembered,” he said, adding it was the PPP that rendered great sacrifices for democracy in the country.
