MUZAFFARGARH: A woman and her son were injured in an acid attack in Kotaddu’s Tibba Karbala locality late on Saturday.

The police said Nasreen Bibi with her daughter Naseem Bibi and her grandson was asleep in their house when suspect Asad Hayat with his two accomplices broke into the house and fled after throwing acid on the faces of Naseem and her son.

Their cries alerted the neighbours. The affected family contacted the Kot Addu police which registered a case under the Anti-Terrorism Act and other related sections of the Pakistan Penal Code. On Sunday, District Police Officer Tariq Willayat visited the crime scene.

The affected people are being treated at the Nishtar Hospital in Multan for treatment. The police arrested the three suspects. Nasreen Bibi told police that Asad tried to have an affair with her daughter and on her refusal, he attacked her.

BODIES: The bodies of an elderly couple were found in their house in Model Town, Jahanian, in the Khanewal district on Sunday.

According to Rescue 1122 sources, the bodies of Younis, 75, and his wife, Basheer Bibi, 70, were found on the roof. Apparently, the bodies were two to three days old.

District Police Officer Syed Nadeem Abbas took notice of the incident. He visited the spot along with the DSP and Jahanian SHO. Mudassar, the son of the deceased, who lives in a separate house on the same street and works as a security guard at a petrol pump, said that he visited his parents on Thursday and his sister Aqsa Bibi was also with him.
