LAHORE: The doctors at the Parvez Elahi Institute of Cardiology, Multan, on Monday successfully conducted coronary bypass surgery of senior politician Makhdoom Javed Hashmi.

Mr Hashmi was brought to the cardiac care facility after complaining of chest pain four days ago and was prescribed coronary bypass surgery by the doctors.

Institute’s Executive Director Dr Amjad conducted the bypass procedure of Mr Hashmi, who was later put on ventilator for 48 hours. Mr Hashmi had suffered a brain hemorrhage on July 20, 2010, that had rendered his left arm paralysed.
