RAWALPINDI: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Rawalpindi on Sunday cancelled the mathematics exam of the Secondary School Certificate-Part II after a teacher was caught helping students solve the paper in the examination centre.

BISE Rawalpindi spokesperson Arsalan Cheema said in light of the notification issued by the controlling authority, the board cancelled the exam (science and arts second group) on Saturday. He said a new date for the exam would be announced later and all candidates would be informed.

He said on Saturday (14-05-2022) Mobile Inspector Mohammad Yousuf Ghafari visited Government Higher Secondary School, Nara tehsil, Kahuta at 1:25pm and saw a group of students outside the centre gathered in a circle and a teacher helping them solve the paper.

He said the name of the teacher was Mohammad Shoaib Ramzan, adding that BISE Chairman Dr Khalid Mehmood also reached the centre and the matter was brought to his notice.

A first information report (FIR) was registered against the teacher on the complaint of the monitoring inspector and he was immediately arrested.

Dr Mehmood was of the view that “such black sheep” would not be forgiven under any circumstances and strict legal and departmental action would be taken against them.

He said he was committed towards providing opportunities to intelligent and hardworking candidates appearing in the examination and would personally supervise all matters.
