BAJAUR: Supporters of MNA Gul Zafar Khan and tehsil council chairman Khaliur Rahman scuffled with each other during a convention of Insaf Students Federation (ISF), a student wing of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf, here on Thursday.

The event titled ‘Ghulami Namanzoor Convention’ was held at the Government Postgraduate College, Khar, where a large number of students and party workers were in attendance.

According to the party sources, the convention was under way when MNA Gul Zafar along with scores of his supporters and party workers entered the hall and allegedly used abusive language against the organisers for not inviting them to the event.

Provincial minister Anwar Zeb Khan, PTI youth wing central president Mena Khan and PTI former district president Khaliur Rahman were present at the gathering, held to prepare the students for the party’s ‘Azadi March’ to Islamabad.

The sources said that the organisers told the MNA that they had issued written invitations to him and his supporters on Wednesday and asked him to sit down to continue the event.

However, they added that Gul Zafar and his supporters refused to sit and instead started slogans against Khaliur Rahman and the organisers, which led to a clash.

They said that the clash between the supporters of MNA and Khaliur Rahman was ended when Anwar Zeb and senior party leaders intervened and requested the supporters of both the groups to respect the guest leaders.
