RAWALPINDI: A newlywed woman was gunned down and her husband shot and injured apparently in the name of honour here on Monday.
Police said Saqib Mehmood had married Husan Taj Bibi about seven months ago against her parents’ wish.
On Monday, the couple had gone to get their computerised national identity cards renewed at Adiala Road when they were attacked.
Police later reached the spot and shifted the dead and injured to hospital.
