BAHAWALPUR: Justice Jawad Hassan of the Lahore High Court, Bahawalpur bench, on Monday restrained the local administration from arrest of any PTI worker/office-bearer and summoned the deputy commissioner on May 25 (tomorrow).

The restraining order was issued on the writ petition filed by Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) lawyers wing on behalf of PTI office-bearers Adeel Aslam and Muhammad Sadiq Joyia.

The petitioners included the Punjab chief secretary, home secretary, interior secretary, IG police, divisional commissioner, deputy commissioner, regional police officer and Bahawalpur DPO among the respondents.

The petitioners submitted that the PTI workers proceeding to Islamabad for their participation in Azadi March apprehended that they would be harassed and arrested by Punjab police.

They prayed that the police be restrained from harassing and arresting them.
