Pledges for this Labour Day

This is regarding the cover story “Pledges for this Labour Day” by Muhammad Ibrahim Shafi (YW, April 30). The article gives us a message to understand the importance of ‘Labour Day’ and that we should always remain grateful for our privileges and labourers working for us.

Without labour, no industry or sector can ever progress. It is the labour that helps to build new industries. A country improves its economy with the help of good labour; therefore, we should be thankful and kind to them, respect them and never take away their rights.

Let there be more trees

This is regarding the article “Let there be more trees” by Daania Ally (YW, May 7). Nature is the basic element that provides the peace we need after our daily workload and routine.

Besides, in the case of trees, their objective is to absorb carbon dioxide gas and release oxygen, which means they offer double advantage to humans. Not only that, trees also control overheating in our atmosphere; thus, they also hinder global warming. Unfortunately, in place of growing more, we are cutting them at a rapid speed. It will be a suicidal blunder for us if we don’t pay attention to the growth of trees.

In Pakistan, we require an extraordinary amount of work to develop green patches and artificial forests in our country. The article brought attention to a serious problem that we must solve as our priority.

The article “Let there be more trees” by Daania Ally highlighted the importance of planting trees because trees are a vital source for the survival of all the living things on earth.

Trees help purify the air that we breath, and by planting more trees we can make the world a healthier place to live for us and for all the coming generations.

How to know your friends and enemies

This is regarding the cover story “How to know your friends and enemies” by Umema Imran (YW, April 23). The article nicely elaborated the importance of the ability to distinguish between a friend and an enemy. And she also shared a very helpful guide of how one can do it.

Indeed, it’s very important that we should share our lives with positive influences and surround ourselves with good friends who can help us in our growth as a person. Having a frenemy can cause serious mental and trust issues, which lead to lack of social life and interest in friendship and other relationships.
