LAHORE: The All Pakistan Workers Confederation has demanded the government review increase in petrol prices in order to prevent price hike of essential commodities.

In a meeting held at the Bakhtiar Labour Hall, it was demanded that the government should raise funds by taxing the elites and feudal lords instead of raising oil prices.

Through a resolution, the workers urged the government to implement the decision of raising minimum wages of workers at the earliest.

The meeting was addressed by veteran trade union leader Khurshid Ahmad, union president Rubina Jamil, Additional General Secretary Akbar Ali Khan, Osama Tariq, Nosher Khan, Hassan Munir Bhatti, Anwar Gujjar, Chaudhry Khushi Muhammad and Salahuddin Ayubi.
