MARDAN: Two minor brothers drowned in a nullah in Ghari Daulatzai area here on Sunday.

Rescue 1122 officials and locals said that the victims identified as Danish Khan, 10, and Ilyas Khan, 8, drowned while bathing in the nullah along with other children.

They said that some residents, who were present on the occasion, tried to save the victims, but in vain. Later, the locals managed to find the bodies after hectic efforts.

Meanwhile, officials of the district administration on Sunday arrested two persons for selling dead chicken in Gujargari area near the TB Hospital.

Additional assistant commissioner Tanver Shehzad told reporters that he along with relevant officials raided a shop located in Gujargari area and arrested two persons while selling dead chicken.

He said that the district administration had received complaints from some residents about sale of dead chicken in the market.
