TAXILA: Two persons died within the jurisdiction of Taxila police station while eight others were injured in Attock on Sunday.

In the first incident, the security guard of a private company, identified as Jamshaid Abbas, was hit by a carelessly-driven truck near Hakla Interchange, sources in National Highway and Motorway Police (NHMP) said.

He was shifted to Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Furthermore, a motorcyclist identified as Saadullah was hit by a car while crossing Grand Trunk Road near Taxila police station. He passed away as a result of the injuries. The car driver managed to escape.

A woman was attacked by unknown armed men while she was travelling in a rickshaw. She was shifted to District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital with a bullet injury. Separately, seven people were injured when three vehicles crashed into each other on G.T. Road near Haji Shah.

According to rescue officials, locals set bushes along the road on fire and this led to accumulation of smoke, reducing visibility to zero. As a result, the vehicles collided with each other.

The injured were shifted to different hospitals in the area. Later, a fire tender was called and the fire was extinguished.

Moreover, two women were also abducted. Shakeel Ahmed reported to police that his sister was abducted by unknown people while Salman Khan informed police that his wife was kidnapped.
