ISLAMABAD: PML-N Senator Irfan-ul-Haque Siddiqui has said that PTI chairman Imran Khan wants the court to become his facilitator by giving him a free hand to create anarchy and chaos in the country and to restrict any government action against such attempts.

“After losing the public support and failure of his Haqiqi Azadi March, Imran Khan once again wants to try the same old strategy as he had tried back in 2014,” Mr Siddiqui said.

He approached the judiciary in the recent march and his aspirations were fulfilled. Now once again he wants to use the judiciary for his ulterior motives,” the PML-N leader said while talking to a private TV channel.

He said the PTI’s infamous 2014 sit-in, planned in London, had been miserably failed.

The PML-N leader said Mr Khan again initiated the objective of dislodging the government in 2017 and at that time a foreign magazine had reported that after Mr Khan’s agitation, the Supreme Court would be mobilised and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s government would be sent packing under the guise of Panama Papers. Mr Javed Hashmi, he said, had also resigned from the PTI after this conspiracy came to light.

Senator Siddiqui said that then a senior judge of the Supreme Court had asked Mr Khan to approach the court and then the PTI filed a petition and, though declared frivolous by the court itself, the petition had been taken up for hearing.

“Now, five years later, after an unsuccessful march, Mr Khan has once again started correspondence with the Supreme Court. He is demanding the same role from the top court which it played five years ago and the heavy price of it the country is still paying,” Mr Siddiqui said.

The PML-N leader said that the PTI chief had openly insulted the verdict of the Supreme Court on the Haqiqi Azadi March, but no action had been taken against Mr Khan and this had encouraged and emboldened his mischievous mentality.
