KARACHI: The annual safety review of the Pakistan navy was held here on Tuesday as part of efforts to create awareness and inculcate a culture of safety among navy personnel.

A PN statement said that Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Mohammed Amjad Khan Niazi was the chief guest.

The safety review provides a roadmap to further enhance a safe working environment in the navy.

Addressing the ceremony, the naval chief reiterated that Pakistan Navy observed a robust safety culture in order to ensure the safety of its assets. He expressed his satisfaction over adherence to safety norms in the navy and the professional competence of its personnel.

He appreciated the efforts of all field commands for maintaining high standards of work and personal safety.

At the end of the ceremony, he gave away safety trophies and awards to the winners of the annual review.

The safety review also served as a sequel to a safety seminar held on Monday in which papers related to the safety culture in the navy were presented.

Both these events were attended by a large number of officers, sailors and navy civilians from field commands.
