KOHAT: The number of provincial assembly seats in Kohat district has been increased from three to four after the merger of Darra Adamkhel tribal subdivision under the new name of NA-35, according to the fresh delimitations announced by the Election Commission of Pakistan.
The commission announced on Wednesday that the fourth constituency – Kohat-I – had been added by including Darra Adamkhel and Jawaki in the Kohat National Assembly circle.
Formerly, Darra had a separate provincial assembly seat – PK-115 – and was part of a single NA-47 seat of erstwhile six frontier regions. The NA seat had been done away with.
Now the tehsils of Lachi, Kohat, Gumbat and Darra would be called PK-88, PK-89, PK-90 and PK-91, respectively.
The new KP-91 would comprise subdivision of Darra, Gumbat tehsil, Togh, Chak Malayan, and Shiekhan patwar circles of Kohat.
