ISLAMABAD: Two people were shot and injured during a robbery on Thursday.

The injured were identified as Atiq-uz-Zaman and Amad Shafiq. Four armed persons beat them both first and an amount of Rs40,000 was snatched from them.

The suspects then shot them both, leaving them with bullet injuries on the legs. Likewise, a milkman, identified as Hafiz Mohammad Shaban narrowly escaped being injured during a robbery in G-9, police said, adding two armed persons held him up at gunpoint at his shop.

They asked him to hand over cash and valuables, however, the shopkeeper put up resistance to this, as a result of which, the suspects opened fire at him.

He did not sustain any injuries though.

Shopkeepers of nearby shops rushed towards the milk shop after hearing gunshots and as a result, the suspects escaped from the spot, the police added.

Moreover, Ishtiaq Khalid was held up at gunpoint in front of his house in D-17. The suspects then entered his home and snatched Rs520,000, gold ornaments and other valuables.

Similarly, three armed men held up Abbas Abbasi at gunpoint in I-10/3 and snatched his brand new car, cash and mobile phone. Two gunmen held up Shahab Rafiq at gunpoint in PWD and snatched away from him cash and a mobile phone.

Cash and other valuables were snatched at different points from Shakil Ahmed, Misre Khan, Wahid Iqbal, Ahsan Ali, Syed Qasir Jamil, Usman Javaid, Nusrat Bibi, Ramzad and Raja Mosa Abbas Satti.

Meanwhile, three vehicles were stolen from F-7/4, Sabzi Mandi and F-6/1. Police said besides this, 13 motorcycles were stolen from 7th Avenue, Blue Area, Fazal-i-Haq Road, Pir Sohawa, F-11, F-8, Barma Town, H-9, I-11/4, Tarnol, G-9, E-11/2, and F-9 Park.

In other incidents, mobile phones were snatched from Nadeem, Mohammad Atiq, Abdul Mateen, Naveed Ali, Mohammad Dilawar and Syed Nadeem Ahmed Shah.
