HYDERABAD, Dec 10: Awa-mi Tehrik chief Rasool Bux Palijo has said that after the separation of East Pakistan, the agreement between the federation and federating units has become null and void and a new covenant be signed between remaining units.

He was talking to party workers here on Friday.

He said the constitution and law have become misnomers in the country and human rights were being violated every where.

Mr Palijo said under a long-term planning, the entire educational system of Sindh was being destroyed, Sindhi language was under attack and urban areas have been handed over to terrorists while rural areas were in the control of bandits.

He said that on the one hand, all resources of Sindh had been usurped and robbery was being committed on the waters of the Indus to convert Sindh into a barren land.

He called upon the Sindhi nation including women to join one platform to protect the Indus River.

STPP: The Sindh Taraqi Pasand Party has strongly reacted to statement of the federal railways minister about reopening of the Khokhrapar-Monabao railway service.

In a statement issued here on Saturday, the spokesman of the party, Nand Lal Malhi, said almost the political parties and the people of Sindh were opposed to opening of the Khokhrapar route.

He said the opening of the route was not at all in the interest of Pakistan and Sindh and therefore the decision be rescinded.

STRIKE CALLED OFF: The All-Sindh Primary Teachers Association called off hunger strike outside the Hyderabad press club on the fifth day on Saturday following the acceptance of their demands.

OSD to the Sindh education minister, Mansoor Qadir Junejo, along with some officers of the education department, reached the hunger strikers camp and held talks with leaders of the association, Munir Bhatti, Mohib Khoso and Zamir Halepoto.

He told them the education minister had accepted all their genuine demands.

Thereafter the primary teachers called off their hunger strike.
