TAXILA: Three persons including two friends were killed and four others injured in two different incidents in Attock on Friday, police and Rescue 1122 sources said.

In the first incident, a speeding car rammed into a roadside tree on G.T. Road near railway crossing, resultantly two young men Haseeb Zahid, 18, and Mousa Ali,17, died on the spot while Danish Rehman, 20, Kamal Hussain,18, and Jamal Shah,10, were injured.

The injured were shifted to Rawalpindi due to their critical condition.

A woman was killed and a man was injured when two armed men showered them with bullets on Shakardara road near Broatha colony in the limits of Attock Police station.

Respective Police have registered separate cases and launched further investigation.

Drugs manufacturing factory unearthed

A team of Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) unearthed a narcotics manufacturing factory and recovered huge quantity of narcotics, items used in manufacturing of narcotics and manufacturing tools besides arresting one of the suspects.

According to an ANF spokesman, ANF Rawalpindi Intelligence recovered 17.7 kg ice.

The factory was being run in the basement of the house.

On the other hand, police and the food department on Saturday held joint operations and foiled an attempt to smuggle wheat and flour.

Deputy Commissioner Attock Mohammad Zulqarnain paid a surprise visit to Jehri Kass checkpost in Hassanabdal and foiled the bid to smuggle three trucks to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa via Hazara Road.

Moreover, Wah Saddar police foiled an attempt to smuggle three truck loads of flour and confiscated 1,343 bags of the commodity at Brahma interchange.

Three truck drivers Shahzaib, Zaheer and Imran were also arrested.

On the occasion, SP Potohar division Rana Abdul Wahab said action would be taken against those who were involved in transfer of illegal wheat and flour.
