GUJAR KHAN: Speaker National Assembly, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf on Monday said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had agreed to establish a sub campus of Punjab University and a well quipped child-mother care centre in Gujar Khan.

Talking to Dawn on telephone, the speaker said the sub-campus and child-mother care hospital has been a long-standing demand of the people of Gujar Khan.

He said the site for the university had also been selected near Ghangrila G.T. Road and very soon work on the projects would be started.

Mr Raja said the students from Gujar Khan had to travel to Islamabad and Lahore for higher education.

He said the establishment of sub-campus of the prestigious university in Gujar Khan tehsil would go a long way in meeting educational needs of the youth.

He also remarked that absence of a proper health facility for the child-mother care was leading to hardships of the residents of his constituency.

Raja Pervaiz Ashraf also added that Gujar Khan tehsil and potohar region were major contributor to oil and gas production of the country and the people living in the vicinity of the oil and gas fields were demanding provision of gas facility.

He said that a comprehensive plan for meeting their genuine demand would also be chalked out by the federal government.
