LARKANA: Police shortage in Larkana

Published December 12, 2005

LARKANA, Dec 11: The Larkana district is facing a shortage of police force since the creation of the Qambar-Shahdadkot district. More than 240 police constables and six vehicles have been sent to the new district. Now there is a need to recruit at least 300 constables in the district to maintain law and order.

A meeting to discuss requirement of the police force was held here on Saturday with district nazim Mohammad Bakhsh Arijo in the chair.

Larkana DPO Dr Saeen Rakhiyo Mirani informed the meeting that 36 social welfare associations had promised to provide motorcycles to the police.

The meeting was told that 12 police posts would be established at the entry points of the district.

The nazim asked the excise and taxation department to curb the sale of narcotics in rural areas of the district.
