RAWALPINDI: Officers and officials of the Regional Tax Office (RTO) in the garrison city on Saturday observed strike and demanded defreezing of the performance allowance.

A large number of RTO employees staged a protest at Kutchery Chowk and demanded defreezing of the performance allowance, says a press release.

In their address, speakers said the FBR employees had been denied their rights in every budget compared to other federal agencies which was a discriminating and demotivating element for them.

The speakers said the FBR force worked round the clock to collect revenue and contributed to national development, adding that the employees had raised their voices at different forums but to no avail.

They demanded the prime minster and finance minister to fulfill their only demand and that was to defreeze the FBR performance allowance equal to 150pc of the running pay.

The speakers said they would continue their peaceful strike throughout the country until the FBR performance allowance was defreezed.
