LAHORE: The first Chief of Army Staff National Inter-club Hockey Championship will be held here at the National Hockey Stadium from July 14 to 23.

Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) secretary Asif Bajwa said ten top clubs of their respective four provinces would take part in the chsmpionship.

According to the PHF secretary, four top clubs of Punjab and two each of Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and one each from Islamabad and Balochistan would feature in the event.

He said the clubs qualified after winning top positions in their district and divisional level championships as these rounds ended on June 25. Asif said 728 clubs took part in the district and 69 at divisional level contests.

The official said the PHF was organising the inter-club event in collaboration with Pakistan Army, adding Army and the PHF had decided to include this event in the calendar of activities.
