PESHAWAR: The city police on Tuesday arrested a station house officer belonging to the Khyber district and his son, also a policeman, and recovered 13 kilogrammes heroin from their possession.

A statement issued here said that Mohammad Shuaib, serving as SHO Mullagori police station in Khyber, and his son Abiduallah were trying to smuggle the contraband in a vehicle.

The police intercepted them near the Pir Zakori Flyover.

The statement said that Capital City Police Officer Mohammad Ijaz Khan suspended the SHO and his son after the development, saying that there was no place for the black sheep in the police department. He also ordered departmental action against the suspended officials.

On Monday, the police had also arrested a cop serving in Agha Mir Jani police station of the provincial capital for paddling heroin to drug addicts across the city.

About 300 packets of heroin were recovered from Fazalur Rehman.
