QUETTA: Convoys of retired employees of Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) started moving towards Islamabad from their areas across the country on Tuesday to take part in a protest sit-in to be staged outside the bank’s headquarters in the federal capital on June 29.

They are demanding an increase in their pension, saying they have been deprived of any raise since 2017.

Qazi Mohammad Younas, a retired assistant vice president of ZTBL, said here on Tuesday that the retired employees had decided not to end their protest sit-in till the bank management issued an order increasing their pension and payment of outstanding dues from 2017 to 2022.

The pensioners will also hold a demonstration at Islamabad’s Zero Point, Mr Younas told Dawn. He alleged that the ZTBL management is violating the court’s order, asking it to give the retired employees all their outstanding dues.
