LAHORE: Police on Saturday registered a case against five to six unidentified persons for attacking senior journalist Ayaz Amir a day earlier.

The case was registered with Qila Gujjar Singh Police Station under sections 147, 149, 506 and 382 of the Pakistan Penal Code on the complaint of the driver of Ayaz Amir.

The journalist and his driver were thrashed severally by five to six unidentified persons when they were leaving the premises of a private TV channel on Abbott Road.

The unidentified men also snatched the wallet and a mobile phone of Ayaz Amir.
