SHORTAGE OF TEACHERS: Every year, announcements are made for recruitment of new teachers in Punjab , but the process never moves forward. Teachers were last recruited in 2018 in the province. There are a lot of vacant seats available, and some government institutions, like those in Ajnianwala town of Sheikhupura, have closed their doors for science students due to lack of subject teachers. The government should look into the matter and recruit qualified teachers without delay.

UNPROFESSIONAL TEACHERS: There is no denying that the Sindh Education Foundation (SEF) has been playing a pivotal role in reaching far-flung areas of the province. However, it has failed to maintain the standard of education due to the shortage of qualified teachers. The SEF hires unprofessional teachers on meagre salaries, and that affects the quality of education. The government must ensure the quality of teachers at SEF-assisted schools.

RE-LAUNCHING SERVICE: A famed private bus service was one of the most reliable facilities for the residents of Dera Ismail Khan until the company concerned haphazardly stopped its local operations without disclosing any reason. The passengers are deprived of a reliable transport facility as the said bus management has its own terminals with designated waiting areas, clean washrooms and kiosks. Re-launching the service needs to be seriously considered.

POLITICAL FUNDING: There are several ambiguities about the legal sources of incoming funds for political parties. Many people are unaware about who can contribute to these funds or how should political parties raise them to carry on their political activities. I suggest that the annual financial statements of political parties must be audited by independent auditors in accordance with the relevant law before submission to the Election Commission of Pakistan.
