LOWER DIR: All Government Contractors Association, Malakand division, has announced that it would stage a sit-in outside the chief minister’s house in Matta area of Swat district and even move the court if the government doesn’t increase their charges and release funds for the ongoing development schemes.

The announcement was made by the association’s divisional president Ikramullah during a press conference at Chakdara Press Club here the other day.

Mr Ikramullah said the contractors called off their strike in all districts of Malakand division in the wake of flood devastation, but the government continued to ignore their demands.

He said if the government was serious about development it should release funds for the ongoing projects. He said the prices of building materials had gone up considerably in the last few years, but the contractors were forced to complete development projects under the old rates.
