QUETTA: The founder of the ruling Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) has condemned the PTI leadership’s “negative and misleading” statements against state institutions and asked the judiciary to intervene.

Talking to the media on Friday, Senator Saeed Ahmed Hashmi said strong state institutions were the guarantors of a country’s security and stability, and therefore elements trying to tarnish their image could not be loyal and sincere to the country and its citizens.

He said the Pakistan Army was the guardian of the ideological and geographical borders of the country and the guarantor of the security.

Mr Hashmi feared that the “negative manipulations” of the PTI leadership to “fulfil their lust for power” would paralyse and weaken the institutions.
