KARACHI: The body of a man found on the roadside in district Sanghar was identified as that of a “missing” worker of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement.

Both the MQM-Pakistan and MQM-London have issued statements condemning what they called the extrajudicial murder of their worker, Irfan Basarat.

The coordination committee of the MQM-P said that Mr Basarat was a victim of enforced disappearance. He was “arrested” from his home in PIB Colony six years ago.

“The government must tell us how can we prove our loyalty [with the state] to save our workers,” it said in a statement.

MQM-London leader Mustafa Azizabadi also condemned the killing of the “missing” worker and alleged that it was an incident of extrajudicial killing.
