ISLAMABAD: A man was beaten up and injured during a robbery as cash and valuables were looted from different places of the capital, police said on Wednesday.

In the first incident, a delivery service rider identified as M. Asif was beaten up by a person who pretended to be a passenger in Gulberg Greens. The suspect was able to escape with Asif’s motorcycle.

In another incident, three armed men disguised as police officials looted a man identified as Mehtab Ahmed on Murree Road. They asked him to let them carry out a physical search on the pretext of a tip that he possessed narcotics, police said, adding that they took Mehtab’s wallet which contained Rs12,000, an ATM card, his motorcycle and other important documents from him.

Likewise, two other people disguised as policemen robbed a motorcyclist identified as M. Sufyan on Srinagar Highway, the police said, adding that the suspects took away with them Rs16,500, Sufyan’s motorcycle and the registration book of the motorcycle.
