MARDAN: A multiparty conference (Mardan chapter) has rejected the proposed plan of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial government to establish a single board of intermediate and secondary education in Peshawar for entire educational institutions of the province.
In this regard, a meeting of all the parties in collaboration with the Employees Coordination Council, Mardan board, was held here on Thursday.
The meeting was attended by JUI-F district chief Maulana Mohammad Qasim, ANP district president Imran Manduri, PML-N district president Inayat Bacha, Jamaat-i-Islami district deputy chief Mushtaq Seemab, PPP district general secretary Asad Ali, JUI-P provincial president Haji Fayaz Khan, QWP district chairman Mujeebur Rehman and representatives of private educational institutes.
Leaders of the political parties and representatives of private educational organisations and board employees council on this occasion unanimously rejected the plan of the PTI provincial government to merge all the eight educational boards located in different districts into one central board to be based in Peshawar.
They asked the authorities to withdraw the decision in the best interest of students, their parents and educational institutes. They said that it was ironical to establish one single board for 1.5 million students of the province.
They said that it would not be possible for a single board to conduct fair and transparent examinations for such a large number of students.
