Two human smugglers arrested

GUJRANWALA, Dec 21: A raiding team of the Federal Investigation Agency (passport cell) foiled an attempt of trafficking of five youths to Spain and arrested two human smugglers on GT Road near Aimanabad on Wednesday.

FIA deputy director Muhammad Akram Naeem received information that five youths were being sent to Spain by human smugglers while an agent was accompanying them in a Lahore-bound wagon. On his direction, a raiding party set up a picket on the GT Road, intercepted the wagon and took into custody five youths besides arresting human smugglers Riaz Ahmad and Raja Wasim Ahmad.

A case has been registered against them.

SUSPENDED: A sub-inspector was suspended from service for taking bribe here on Wednesday.

Reports said that Azad Begum of Khokherki lodged a complaint with DIG Zafer Abbas Lak that SI Abdul Qayyum took Rs10,000 in bribe from her in connection with a case.

The DIG also ordered an inquiry against the accused SI.
