LAHORE: The Punjab health department has increased the bed strength from 950 to 1,450 in all major teaching hospitals of the province to expand the scope of treatment of the dengue patients.
It directed the heads of the teaching hospitals to further plan to take the bed-strength to 21,00 as per the reports of increase in number of dengue patients.
The decision was taken in a meeting chaired by Punjab Health Secretary Imran Sikandar Baloch on Friday.
It reviewed the the situation of dengue and the medical facilities for the patients in the government teaching hospitals.
