TOBA TEK SINGH: A fake faith-healer allegedly raped a woman at Gojra on Saturday.

According to the first information report (FIR) registered with Gojra City police, the complainant, a resident of Chak 351-JB, Kalyandas, alleged that his sister was unwell and she was getting spiritual treatment from a faith healer.

On Saturday, his mother took his sister to his outhouse of the suspect in the New Plots locality. The suspect asked the girl to accompany him to a room at the upper storey of his outhouse for treatment where he raped her.

On hearing cries of the girl, her mother and other people present there rushed to the upper storey but the suspect managed to escape.

The girl was shifted to the Gojra Tehsil Headquarters Hospital where a lady doctor, in her medical examination report, confirmed rape of the girl.

The district police spokesperson claimed to have arrested the suspect.

DC: Faisalabad Deputy Commissioner Imran Hamid Shaikh has asked the head of all departments of the district to monitor their departments in the field.

While addressing a meeting, he directed all the school and health welfare councils to hold their meetings on the first Thursday of every month.

Meanwhile, the DC distributed certificates of appreciation to the members of the Private Schools Alliance for their efforts to send relief goods in flood-hit areas.

The alliance chairman, Sadaqat Hussain Lodhi, and in-charge District Emergency Operational Centre Muhammad Sadiq were also present.
