MUZAFFARGARH: The World Patient Safety Day was observed at Recep Tayyip Erdogan Hospital under the theme “Medicine Without Harm”.

The basic objective is to create awareness about the harms caused by medicines due to medication errors and unsafe practices, and develop mechanisms to improve drug safety.

On this occasion, campus head Dr. Irfan Javed said the pharmaceutical companies, doctors and pharmacists should fulfil their responsibility from making medicines to delivering it to the patient.

He said the pharmaceutical companies should fulfil their responsibility in all aspects of quality and access to the patient. According to the composition of the drugs, the doctors should carry out thorough precise diagnosis and prescribe the exact medicines for the disease.

He said pharmacists also have the responsibility to fully inform the patient of drug use. He said the responsibility of the patient or his family members is to fully follow the doctor’s instructions in the use of medicine.

“Do not use more or less than the prescribed amount of medicine because where the proper use of medicine cures the disease, the wrong way can prove to be very harmful.”

The patients visiting the Erdogan Hospital were informed about the use of medicines by setting up a stall.
