‘Never too old to learn’: Fakhr-e-Alam awarded Alternate Investments certificate from Harvard Business School

The actor and singer encouraged his followers to keep exploring new horizons, no matter how old they are.

There is no full-stop where learning is concerned and certainly no age limit when it comes to school. Actor and singer Fakhr-e-Alam just did an online course from Harvard Business School and he is encouraging all his followers to give themselves that little push that opens them up to new worlds.

On Tuesday, the 46-year-old shared his latest milestone on Instagram. “Never STOP learning, [you can] never [be] too old to learn…. Never thought I would one day attend Harvard Business School… Even though online but Harvard none the less… Earned my Alternative Investments certificate,” he wrote, explaining what constitutes it. “It’s a very interesting course from private equity, private debt, distress investing, hedge funds, real estate, portfolio management and strategies….”

The ‘Laut Aao’ singer said the course added to his knowledge and helped him discover new ways to go about his business dealings. “It perfectly aligned with things I have been doing for a few years in business but it opened my mind and changed my approach on so many business strategies especially my investments…..”

He repeated himself and reminded his followers that it’s never too late to learn. “It’s always great to learn new things….. Wish you all happy learnings……” He concluded by tagging Harvard Business School and thanking them.

Like Alam, there are several other actors who have set an example by pursuing further studies. Actor Mawra Hocane went back to law school to finish what she started despite her blossoming career because education is not necessarily about getting a job, but polishing oneself. Actor Ameer Gilani also recently graduated from Harvard Law School and Indian actor and author Twinkle Khanna is currently pursuing her Masters in Fiction Writing at the prestigious Goldsmiths, University of London.

@Sugon Deeznutz . Many schools ( colleges & universities) have online classes due to current situations. Nothing better than learning in the comfort of your own home

Had it been a 4 year undergrad or 2 year masters from Harvard, it would have merit. What is the worth of an online / week long course?

Why pay big bucks for this certificate! One can get the same credentials from other institutions at much lower cost!

Anybody can get admission in these online courses all you need to do is be able to pay the tuition, exams are open book, the answers to the questions are in the literature they send you and you can finish the course as per your convenience, certificates give some extra weight to your resume but don't expect to find an executives job.

At the end of the day he is an entertainer . I am sure what he learned is easily available on YouTube . I hate the element of showing off our celebrities have . Ideally he should teach our youth for free what he learned by paying Harvard several thousand dollars . Btw these courses have no prerequisites , it’s not like he aced the gmat or the gre to get accepted into the course . Besides , even when he claimed to fly solo there were other pilots in the plane with him . I hate the hypocritical nature of our wannabe celebrities

It's a $1,750 course. That's equivalent to many local Master's degree programs. And it's not even a degree, it's a certificate for 5 weeks of course work. Guess he had extra money and extra time on his hands.

Its good to focus on single thing and try to be better in that rather than hoping into different things ending up with an entry level skill set in multiple fields.

@Maxx So true..online is a cash cow for premier institutions...the biggest problem is that online credentials have academic integrity issues and lack acceptance by the marketplace!
