KARACHI: A 46-year-old man was shot dead by suspected robbers over resistance in Masroor Colony on late Wednesday night.

Mauripur SHO Ghulam Husain Korai said that a gang of five/six suspects broke into the house of Javed Murad and held his family members at gunpoint. They collected around Rs50,000 cash and other valuables before leaving the house.

Mr Murad, who was sitting at his shop within the locality chased and tried to catch any of the fleeing suspects but they opened fire upon his resistance and fled.

He died during treatment at civil hospital.
