SWABI: The Swabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry will work for creating job opportunities for local people in the present period of high inflation and unemployment.
This was stated by new office-bearers of the chamber after their election here on Friday.
They said the chamber would focus on the welfare of local entrepreneurs and strive to give employment opportunities to the people to earn their livelihood.
The Swabi chamber’s newly-elected office-bearers include president Mohammad Babar Humayun, senior vice-president Zulfiqar Ali and vice-president Sherzaman Khan.
Eleven members of the executive committee have returned unopposed. Prominent among them were Fazal Rahim, Liaquat Ahmad, Mohammad Zahid Shah, Israr Khan, Ijaz Akram and Fazl Amin.
Gadoon Industrial Association president Fazal Rahim said they had been working to create an environment conducive for engaging the local people and providing them with job opportunities.
STUDENTS TRAINED: The students of Gajju Khan Medical College, Swabi, were given the first aid training on how they could serve the patients in case of natural disaster and other incidents.
The training was imparted to them during their visit to the Rescue-1122 Shahmansoor station on Friday.
District emergency officer Rafiullah Marwat informed the faculty members and students about the work of Rescue 1122 service.
