KARACHI: Over 340 people were tested positive for dengue virus in the metropolis during the last 24 hours, officials said on Sunday.
According to data released by the Sindh health department, a total of 419 patients have been tested positive for dengue in the province and an overwhelming majority of them, 343, are from Karachi.
The highest number of patients i.e. 107, came from district East, followed by district Central where 99 people were found suffering from the mosquito-borne disease.
During the last 24 hours, districts South and Korangi reported 55 and 36 positive cases, respectively.
The number of patients tested positive in districts Malir and Keamari were 20 and 13, respectively.
Meanwhile, the health department confirmed deaths of two more persons from dengue virus. The total number of patients died from dengue in Sindh during the current month has reached 32.
The department said that both the deceased persons were male and residents of district Central.
