MARDAN: The slain sub-inspector of Intelligence Bureau (IB), Kifayatullah Khan, was laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard with official honour here on Monday.

Police said that the sub-inspector of IB was shot dead by unidentified gunmen inside his native mosque located in Janabad area when he was offering Isha prayers the other day.

He was killed in the attack while two other worshipers identified as Lal Bahadar and Irfan received bullet wounds.

FIR was registered against unidentified terrorists. The funeral prayers of martyred sub-inspector were offered at in the police lines. The funeral prayers were attended by joint director Mian Mazhar Kakakhel, RPO Mohammad Ali Gandapur, DPO Irfanullah Khan and local elders.

CAMP: Shifa International Hospital Islamabad organised a heart screening camp for members of Mardan Press Club here the other day.

A medical team of the hospital, led by Dr Jawad, checked the journalists. Mardan mayor Himayatullah Mayar was chief guest on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Mayar said that other relevant institutes and organisations should come forward and play due role in creating awareness among people about heart diseases.

He said that as per health experts, causes of most of the deaths in Pakistan were heart diseases.

In his welcome address, Mardan Press Club president Musarat Khan Aasi thanked the medical team of Shifa International Hospital for holding the camp.

Siama Jabar, media manager of Shifa International Hospital Islamabad, said on the occasion that holding of such medical camps was meant to create awareness among journalists and other people about heart diseases.
