ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday summoned Axact/Bol TV owner Shoaib Sheikh to appear in person on Oct 7 in fake degree case.

Chief Justice Athar Minallah expressed displeasure over his nonappearance and said he should first appear in the court and after that, the proceedings would start on the appeals.

One convict named Rizwan appeared before the court during the last hearing. However, Mr Sheikh and another appellant Nigel Robello did not appear.

On Monday, the court adjourned the hearing till Oct 7 with direction for Mr Sheikh to appear in person.

On July 2018, a District and Sessions Judge sentenced 23 accused, including Mr Sheikh.

The Bol TV owner was awarded a total of 20 years’ imprisonment and a fine of Rs1.2 million. The IHC, however, had suspended Mr Shaikh’s sentence.
