DERA ISMAIL KHAN: The regional office of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has constituted a committee to address tax-related problems of traders belonging to southern districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to a notification, the 11-member committee will be headed by Commissioner Inland Revenue Irfan Aziz.

The committee will look into various issues pertaining to tax of business community and recommend amicable solutions to the problems.

The representatives of business community belonging to Kohat, Hangu, Karak, Bannu, Tank and Dera Ismail Khan districts will be also members of the committee.

11-member committee will hold first meeting on October 10

The first meeting of the committee will be held on October 10 and subsequently it will meet on every second Monday of each month. The members will be included in the committee or excluded from it with prior approval of the commissioner of Inland Revenue, Dera Ismail Khan.

Misbahuddin from Inland Revenue will work as secretary of the committee. Other members of the committee include president and vice-president of Chamber of Commerce and Industry Kohat Rasheed Ahmed Paracha and Mansoor Bangash, Anjuman-i-Tajran D I Khan president Sohail Ahmad Azmi, Anjuman-i-Tajran Hangu president Zafar Iqbal, Bannu Chamber of Commerce and Industry vice-president

Malik Maqbool Elahi, Anjuman-i-Tajran Tank president Haji Ramazan, Anjuman-i-Tajran, Karak president Haji Gul Razi and tax consultants Advocate Abdur Rauf and Advocate Hameedullah Khan.

Meanwhile, the Power Planning and Monitoring Company has also decided to constitute ‘traders facilitation committees’ for effective liaison and coordination with business community.

Sohail Ahmad Azmi has been nominated as member of the committee from Dera Ismail Khan.

Meanwhile, local people and traders welcomed the decision of forming committees for resolving problems of business community pertaining to tax and electricity.

President Peoples’ Lawyers Forum Shah Fahad Ansari, PML-N district president Mohammad Rehan, general secretary Chaudhry Riaz, Dawar Khan Kundi, Jamaat-i-Islami leader Zahid Mohibullah, JUI-F leader Mohammad Kafeel Ahmad Nizami and president of Chamber of Agriculture Haji Abdur Rasheed Dhap congratulated Sohail Ahmad Azmi for becoming member of the both committees.

They said that he would serve traders to best of his abilities by taking up their problems with FBR and the power distribution company.
