Civil Aviation Authority spokesman said that personnel from the designated area were evacuated to a safe assembly point. He said the activity was aimed to activate fire safety protocols, test rescue and fire fighting services (RFFS) procedures, andgive fire emergency responders and health staff a platform to demonstrate professional skills in evacuation and attempt to attend to the simulated victims.

Fire alarms and safety signs were put into action in the passenger terminal building.

Meanwhile, CAA, ASF, Chitral Scouts, Chital Task Force, police, Rescue 1122, bomb disposal squad, PIA and district administration took part in the mock exercise to check security preparations at Chitral Airport.

The objective was to check the response time, coordination and readiness of law-enforcement agencies in times of contingencies.
