ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) have reached an understanding to ensure safe, orderly and humane return of Pakistani nationals while taking strict action to combat crimes of human smuggling and trafficking.

The UN’s International Office for Migration (IOM) organised a visit of senior government officials from BiH Ministry of Security and Service for Foreigners’ Affairs to discuss the issue.

A press release issued by the IOM said the two countries reaffirmed cooperation on implementation of the readmission agreement between Pakistan and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The two countries also discussed steps to develop a digital solution to implement the agreement.

The IOM had organised the visit within the framework of Western Balkan Readmission Capacity Building Facility (WBCAP), the press release said.

The six-member delegation was led by Adviser to the Minister of Security Sasa Kecman. During their three-day visit, the members held detailed meetings with officials from the ministries of foreign affairs and interior as well as Nadra and Federal Investigation Agency.

The delegation also met with Nadra Chairman Tariq Malik, Additional Secretary Interior Ministry, Momin Agha; FIA Director General Mohsin Butt and Director General (Europe) in Foreign Office, Rabia Shafiq.
