TAXILA: Taxila police on Sunday busted a gang involved in street crimes and arrested its three members including the ring leader.

Sub Divisional Police Officer Malik Mohammad Arif told journalists that the gang was involved in a number of street crimes including snatching and robbery in the area.

He said that a snatched motorcycle, rickshaw, mobile phones and cash besides arms utilised in various crimes was also recovered from their possession.

He said Bilal and Umer have been declared as proclaimed offenders by local courts and they were wanted in a number of crimes by police.

Furthermore, a motorcyclist died after being hit by a bus near Jameelabad in the jurisdiction of Taxila police station on Sunday.

Police sources said that Amjad Mehmood was going on his motorcycle when a Peshawar-bound passenger bus coming from Rawalpindi crashed into his vehicle. He died on the spot.
