ABBOTTABAD: Girls have bagged all top positions in the Higher Secondary School Certificate-II examination held by the Abbottabad Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education in June and July.
The exam results were announced by BISE controller (examination) Prof Babar Ayaz Abbasi here on Monday.
According to him, 38,598 students sat the exam and 30,258 of them were declared successful by the board with the pass rate totalling 78.3 per cent.
In Pre-Medical group, Nimra Khan of the Tameer-e-Wattan Public School and College Abbottabad stood first by obtaining 1,057 out of a total of 1100 marks.

She was followed by Areeba Murtaza of the Government Post Graduate College for Women Haripur with 1057 marks. She shared the second top position with Ume Habiba of the Tameer-e-Wattan School and College Mansehra. Fatima Javed of the Tameer-e-Wattan School and College Mansehra got third position with 1053 marks.
In Pre-Engineering group, Harram Nazir of the TWPSC Abbottabad got 1052 marks to claim first position. The second position went to Ayesha Masood of the TWPSC Abbottabad (1051 marks) and third to Ghaza Pervez of the Bright Vision Model School and College Haripur (1047 marks).
In Computer Science group, Syeda Noor Fatima of the Bright Vision Model School and College Haripur got 1012 marks to stand first. Alishba Naeem of the TWPSC Abbottabad bagged second position with 1003 marks and Junaid Zeb of the Government Postgraduate College No 1 Abbottabad third with 1002 marks.
In Arts Group,Sibgha Sattar of the GGHSS Lassan Nawab Mansehra stood first with 971 marks, Sundas Tariq of the GGHSS Sherwan Abbottabad second with 861 marks and Zainab Bibi of the GGHSS Sherwan third with 954 marks.
Meanwhile, Abbottabad deputy commissioner Tariq Salam has imposed Section 144 of theCode of Criminal Procedure for two months banning mining and quarrying in Guzara Reserve Forest.
It warned strict action would be taken against violators of the ban.
