ISLAMABAD: Federal Parliamentary Secretary Education Zeb Jaffar on Monday visited the Islamabad Model College for Boys (IMCB) G-7/2 and the junior school in G-7-3/1 and expressed satisfaction over the performance of both institutions and directed relevant officials to bring more improvement in the standard of education.

Accompanied by director schools Abdul Waheed and some other officers of Federal Directorate of Education (FDE), she first visited IMCB G-7, where she also talked to students.

Some students told her that they had been facing issues in understanding history and geography as these two subjects were being taught from class six to eight in English while in ninth and tenth, they were replaced with Pakistan Studies in Urdu. She promised students that she would take up this issue with officers.

President of School Teachers Association Malik Ameer informed her that the teaching community of Islamabad was facing issues of hiring. He also said that teaching allowances should be increased. The secretary told him that the government will look into these two issues.

Meanwhile, the secretary visited a primary school in sector G-7/3. Similarly, director general of FDE Dr Ikram Ali Malik also visited Islamabad Model College for Girls (IMCG) Korang Town to attend the award-giving ceremony to position holders of class fifth and eighth. He advised students to adopt an analytical approach and avoid rote learning for success in life. Director of Model Colleges Aftab Tariq was also present on the occasion.
